FAQ
Q: What should I expect on the first visit?
First visits are 90 minutes. After scheduling, you will receive an email that includes the first visit paperwork. If you can complete and print the intake paperwork before you arrive at your scheduled appointment, it helps allow the most time for focusing on your health concerns. During your visit, expect a thorough conversation about your medical history, current concerns and goals, pertinent physical exam, and discussion about treatment options. Be sure to dress in comfortable clothes as movement therapy is a foundational part of every visit. Please refrain from wearing fragrances of any kind to your visit. We maintain a scent-free clinic space for everyone.
Q: Do you do acupuncture for New Mexico residents?
NO. New Mexico state laws restrict acupuncture licenses to those with national board certification in Chinese Herbology. Dr. Peterson is nationally board certified in acupuncture, not Chinese Herbology. She offers trigger point therapy using filiform needles as well as a wide variety of manual therapies for New Mexico residents.
Q: Do you take insurance?
At the moment, no. Visits are sliding scale. Stay tuned... insurance credentialing is in the works!
Q: What does this cost?
Rates for services are sliding scale. Please call or email for more information.
Q: Can you be my PCP?
Yes. If you already have a PCP, that's great! Dr. Peterson can work with you providing specialized care.
Q: I woke up sick. Can I get an appointment today?
Yes. Just call or email and Dr. Peterson will fit you into her schedule just as soon as possible.
Please please please wear a mask. I will too. :)
